Penny Hutten is a native of California and has been a resident of Forestville for over thirty-five years. She was the founder of Forestville Historical Society in 1998. Her love of history developed through the years, reading many books and exploring the local history of Sonoma County California.
A 1967 graduate of Mt. Diablo High School and 1983 graduate of Santa Rosa Junior College with a degree in Electronics, Hutten worked at Hewlett Packard until she retired. Her job evolved into a web development job, which gave her the skills, needed to publish the Forestville Historical Society web page. She served as president of the historical Society for several years.
Penny Hutten recently moved to the Pacific Northwest. She is currently a member of the Westerner Historical Society and the Inland Empire Railroad Historical Society in Spokane Washington.
When not doing genealogical or historical research, Hutten enjoys gardening and is heavily involved in her new community of Deer Park Washington.
Hutten and the Forestville Historical Society hope this book will preserve some of the history of Forestville for future generations.
